When one is first starting out, it is difficult to know what to stock and what to purchase for special dishes. The following is a list of items that would provide a full and expansive larder for private consumption and unexpected guests. However, one need not carry all of these items all at once, but focus on what you currently use every day or every week and gradually incorporate the other items into your grocery list and diet.
